Rebecca R. Birkner, Mathew D. Mahurin, and Marilyn J. Creek injured in Route 30 accident in Jefferson County

On May 5th at approximately 6:25 pm, Rebecca R. Birkner, Mathew D. Mahurin, and Marilyn J. Creek were all injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Route 30 near Zimmerman Road in Jefferson County. The accident began when Mr. Creek, 86, of Villa Ridge, turned into the path of Mr. Mahurin’s motorcycle. Ms. Rebecca Birkner, 35, of Cuba, MO, was riding as a passenger on Mr. Mahurin’s bike. Both Mr. Mahurin and Mr. Creek were moderately injured, with Ms. Birkner suffering severe injuries that required immediate transportation by emergency helicopter to Mercy Hospital, St. Louis. Mr. Mahurin and Mr. Creek were transported via ambulance to local hospitals, treated, and released.
