At approximately 4:00 pm on May 3rd, three were injured in a multi-car accident in Jefferson County on Horine Road. The accident began when James Muelhauser, 65, of Arnold, MO, came to a stop behind a Ford F150 driven by Shawn Loness, 30, of Pevely. Mr. Loness was himself stopped behind a local school bus, which was discharging children on the street corner. The wreck occurred when Mr. Andrew Huddleston, 25, of Hillsboro, approached the two idling vehicles from behind at a high rate of speed. Apparently unaware that they were stopped in the road, Mr. Huddleston collided with Mr. Muelhauser who in turn hit Mr. Loness. The school bus was not damaged and no children were harmed in the accident. Sharon Muelhauser, 69, of Arnold, Amy Lough, 31, of Barnhart, and Mr. Huddleston himself all suffered moderate injuries and were transported by EMS to local hospitals for treatment.
