Michael Schwartz injured in Lafayette County wreck

On April 19th at approximately 7:13 pm, Michael Schwartz, 49, of Hettick, IL, was injured following an accident that occurred on US 24, in Lafayette County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 2012 Freightliner driven by Oleksandr Samodin, 22, of Hallendale Beach, FL, was involved in the accident when it turned in front of a 2004 Freightliner driven by Mr. Schwartz causing them to strike partially head on. Both drivers were using their safety devices. Mr. Samodin was not injured in the accident and refused medical treatment. Mr. Schwartz sustained serious injuries and was transported via Life Flight to a nearby medical center to be treated.
