3, Huskey, Cannon, Harris, injured in Johnson County crash

At approximately 6 pm on April 10th, Luke A. Huskey, Teresa M. Cannon, and Devorius Harris were all injured in a multi-car accident on Missouri State Highway 13 near Highway H. The crash occurred when Huskey, 23, of Marshal, MO, rear ended Cannon. Cannon had been temporarily stopped in the north bound lane. The impact pushed Cannon’s 2015 Toyota Camry into the adjoining lane. Patrick Harmon, 45, of Monroe City, was travelling in that lane, saw the accident, and attempted to avoid it by running off the road. He hit an embankment. Devorius Harris, Harmon’s passenger, was injured though Harmon himself declined medical assistance. All three injured parties were transported to local hospitals and later released.

Traffic accidents, especially sudden multi-car wrecks, can be as traumatic as they are dangerous, and we at the law offices of Kevin J. Roach wish all parties a speedy and thorough recovery.

The Legal Claims

Fortunately for those involved, Missouri has a strong system of personal injury laws meant to protect those who have been hurt by the negligence of others. Several parties in the above incident would likely have valid legal claims. Although personal injury law can be complex, seasoned litigators can seek compensation for an injured party’s lost wages, medical expenses, and expenses related to pain and suffering. Those who suffered property damage–like a totaled automobile–can also seek compensation for the loss of their property.
