2 Hospitalized in Lafayette Square Crash at Mississippi Avenue and Chouteau Avenue
St. Louis, Missouri (March 5, 2018) – Two people were injured in a hit-and-run collision on Saturday in the Lafayette Square neighborhood in St. Louis.
The incident took place at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Mississippi Avenue and Chouteau Avenue.
According to St. Louis City police, an Uber driver was dropping off customers near Mississippi Ave and Chouteau Avenue when their car was hit by two vehicles believed to be racing eastbound on Chouteau.
The report stated that the two racing drivers were driving at least at 90 to 100 miles an hour.
After the speeding cars crashed into the Uber, the impact caused the Uber to slam into several other parked vehicles near the restaurant.
One of the parked cars reportedly totaled in the incident.
Two people, including the Uber driver, were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
One of the racing drivers remained at the scene while the other who was driving a black Dodge Charger fled the scene.
