2 Hurt in Car Crash at County G and Beloit-Rock Townline Road in Rock County
Rock County, Illinois (February 23, 2018) – Two People were critically injured in a two-vehicle collision on Thursday evening in Rock County, as per a local news source.
The accident occurred at about 4:48 p.m. February 22, at the intersection of South County G and West Beloit-Rock Townline Road.
According to a press release by the Rock County Sheriff’s office, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by an 81-year-old Janesville man had been traveling southbound on South County G behind a Nissan car driven by a 57-year-old South Beloit man.
The Nissan stopped at a red traffic light at the intersection but the Silverado failed to stop and rear-ended the Nissan.
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles across the intersection and into a ditch at the southwest corner of the intersection.
One of the drivers was found unresponsive at the scene.
Both drivers were transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville for treatment.
The names of the patients were not disclosed.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
