2 Drivers, 1 Passenger Injured In Head-On Crash on Illinois 256 in Waterloo

Waterloo, Illinois (December 30, 2017) – Three people were injured in a head-on collision early Friday morning near Waterloo, a trooper said.

The crash occurred at about 1:18 a.m. Friday, December 29, on Illinois 156 near Fountain Creek Ridge Lane.

According to a trooper, a man was operating a Honda Convertible east when he drove across the center lane and collided with a westbound Ford Escape head-on.

Officials said the driver of the Honda was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis for treatment while his female passenger was airlifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital where she underwent surgery Friday morning.

A report said the driver of the Ford Escape was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remained under investigation.
