McKenzie Rauch killed, Richard Jean injured, in Greene County traffic accident

On Monday, September 17, 53-year old Richard Jean was seriously injured and 16-year old McKenzie Rauch was killed in a multi-vehicle traffic accident on US-160 at North Farm Road just west of Springfield in Greene County.

The accident began at approximately 8 PM, when Ms. Rauch crossed over the center line and struck Mr. Jean head on, causing the vehicle Mr. Jean was traveling in to leave the roadway where it flipped and caught fire.

Tragically, Ms. Rauch was later declared deceased by medical personnel at Mercy hospital. Mr. Jean was also rushed to Mercy hospital via ambulance for emergency, life-saving, medical intervention. Mr. Rauch remains hospitalized and under close observation.

Both vehicles were totaled, and had to be towed from the scene.

No criminal citations have been issued in this case.
