1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-290 in DuPage County
DuPage County, Illinois (March 2, 2018 – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in DuPage County near Elmhurst on Thursday afternoon.
The collision occurred at about 2:00 p.m. March 1, on Interstate 290 near St. Charles Road.
According to a report by the Illinois State Police, three semi-trucks and four passenger vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of the roadway for unknown reasons.
The vehicles included a red 2004 Chrysler car, a white 2018 Toyota van, a black 2016 Ford SUV and a gold 2016 Subaru,
A fire broke out after the collision.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
No other information on the incident was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
