1 Killed, 1 Injured in Head-On Crash on Route 15 in Washington County
Washington County, Illinois (February 27, 2018) – According to Illinois State Police, One person was killed and another injured in a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon in Washington County.
The fatal wreck happened at around 1:07 p.m. on Illinois Route 15, just east of Raven Road.
According to investigators, a Chevrolet Impala was driven east on Route 15 when it crossed the center line and slammed into a westbound Ford truck head-on.
After the impact, both cars ended up on the north side of the highway, police said.
One person was killed in the collision and another sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital by an ambulance for treatment.
Route 15 remained closed down for approximately three hours during an investigation, as per the report.
