1 Hospitalized In 5-Car Crash on I-55 to I-80 Ramp in Shorewood
Shorewood, Illinois (January 16, 2018) – Five vehicles collided in Shorewood Tuesday morning injuring one person, according to a Troy Fire Deputy Chief.
The accident happened at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, on the ramp between southbound Interstates 55 and westbound I-80 near Shorewood.
According to a Troy Fire Deputy Chief, officials reached the incident scene and found that five vehicles had collided and the impact of the crash sent two cars into a ditch.
Authorities said one person was transported to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, in unknown condition.
Officials said the road was too icy that several vehicles had slid off on the road.
The ramp was blocked off for more than 30 minutes by the Illinois State Police, a report said.
